KEI Conflame Green+ 90MTR Wire is a single-core FR-LSH house wire built around a specific problem: in most building fires, it isn't the flame that kills people, it's the smoke. Standard PVC insulation emits dense smoke and toxic halogen gases as it burns, in exactly the stairwells and corridors people are trying to escape through.

Conflame Green+ is insulated with a specially formulated heat-resistant flame-retardant compound that both retards the spread of fire and restricts smoke and toxic gas emission, keeping escape routes survivable for longer. The insulation is lead-free and the range is RoHS and REACH compliant, with packaging made from recycled biodegradable material.

This matters commercially as well as ethically. The National Building Code 2016 (Part 4, Fire & Life Safety) and most state fire service rules effectively require FR-LSH wiring in escape routes, common shafts, and high-occupancy buildings — which means multi-storey residential, hotels, hospitals, and commercial premises. Conductor is the same 99.97% pure copper as the Homecab range, in the same four sizes and five colours.

1) What does FR-LSH actually mean, and why pay more for it?

Flame Retardant Low Smoke & Halogen. Ordinary PVC insulation emits dense smoke and toxic halogen gases when it burns — and smoke inhalation, not flame, causes the majority of fire deaths. FR-LSH insulation substantially restricts that emission, keeping stairwells and corridors survivable for longer.

2) Do I actually need FR-LSH, or is Homecab enough?

For an independent house or low-rise home, a BIS-certified FR wire like Homecab is compliant. For G+4 and above, commercial buildings, hotels, and hospitals, NBC 2016 fire-safety provisions and state fire rules generally require FR-LSH in escape routes and common areas. Check what your building approval specifies.

3) Is the conductor the same as Homecab?

Yes — both use 99.97% pure electrolytic grade annealed copper. The difference is entirely in the insulation compound, not the current-carrying capacity of the conductor.

4) What makes it "Green+"?

The insulation is lead-free and RoHS and REACH compliant, so no lead leaches into the environment over the cable's life, and the packaging uses recycled biodegradable material.

5) Which size and colour should I order?
