Fevicol Probond is Pidilite's special adhesive for bonding PVC edge-banding tapes, PVC sheets and acrylic sheets to wood, plywood and boards. Its thin, smooth-spreading formula holds materials that tend to curl, giving furniture edges and surfaces a clean, lasting finish.

Press the PVC onto the fresh adhesive straight away and hold firm pressure for 2 – 5 minutes. Leave the work undisturbed for 4 – 6 hours to reach handling strength, and allow 24 hours for a full cure. Available in 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg packs.

Application Guidelines

Surface Prep: Clean surfaces thoroughly and remove dust and grease
Apply: For edge-banding tapes, coat the wood edge only. For wide PVC or acrylic sheets, coat both surfaces
Press Immediately: Place the PVC on the fresh adhesive and hold firm hand or roller pressure for 2 – 5 minutes
Leave Undisturbed: Wait 4 – 6 hours before trimming or handling, or the edges may lift
Full Cure: Allow 24 hours before putting the piece into regular use

1) What is Fevicol Probond used for?

It bonds PVC edge-banding tapes, PVC sheets and acrylic sheets to wood, plywood and boards for a clean furniture finish.

2) How long does it take to set? Can I trim right away?

No. Hold firm pressure for 2 – 5 minutes after pressing the PVC on, then leave it for 4 – 6 hours before trimming or handling. Disturbing it earlier can make the PVC lift or spring back at the edges. Full cure takes 24 hours.

3) Can I use it for manual edge banding?

Yes. Apply Probond to the wood edge only, press the PVC tape on immediately, and roll it firmly for 2 – 5 minutes.

4) Can I speed up the setting?

Yes. Professionals pass a hot iron or hot air blower over a thick cotton cloth placed on the PVC. Do not exceed 75 – 80°C, or the PVC will shrink and warp.

5) Can I use regular Fevicol or Probond for laminates?

Regular wood glue is not recommended for PVC, which is why Probond exists. For laminate sheets, use a contact adhesive made for laminate bonding instead of Probond.

6) How do I identify genuine Fevicol?
