Specifically designed to house flex LED light strips, this heavy-duty surface channel features a durable 0.72 mm gauge construction with a premium metallic finish. It serves as an excellent heat sink to keep your LED strips cool while acting as a protective barrier, making it the perfect choice for professional under-cabinet, wardrobe, and modern architectural accent lighting projects.

Key Highlights

Heavy-Duty Construction: Built with a rugged, thick 0.72 mm gauge aluminium framework that prevents twisting, bending, or warping during handling and installation
Premium Anodized Finish: Showcases a sleek, premium metallic finish that provides a contemporary look while protecting the metal against corrosion and wear
Direct Surface Mount Layout: Designed to screw down or mount flat directly onto hard surfaces like wooden cabinets, walls, or shelving — eliminating the need for complex drywall recess cutting
Advanced Thermal Heat Dissipation: The thick premium aluminium channel acts as a passive cooling system that quickly draws operating heat away from your LED strips, dramatically expanding their performance and lifespan
Smooth Diffused Illumination: Offers space for a custom snap-in frosted diffuser lens to distribute light evenly, smoothing out distracting dot-shadows into a continuous glowing line

Recommendation

The Sturlite ZIO 17x6 MM Surface Channel is highly recommended for low-profile, surface-mounted accent lighting applications where cutting layout holes into walls or woodwork isn't ideal. It provides exceptional utility for:

Under-Cabinet Kitchen Lighting: Provides seamless illumination over countertops without exposing bare strip tape
Wardrobes, Closets & Shelving: Adds luxury spotlight value inside dark shelves, clothing racks, and display bays
Architectural Cove & Accent Borders: Defines modern geometric ceiling edges, corridors, and TV backdrops perfectly
Commercial Retail Showcases: Illuminates glass counters, jewelry displays, and product cases neatly

1) Does this profile package include the actual flexible LED strip lights?

No. This is the structural aluminium housing channel and diffuser lens setup only. It is built to house separate flexible LED light strip ribbons, giving you the complete freedom to pick your preferred brightness, wattage, and color temperature.

2) Can I cut this 2-meter track down to smaller custom lengths?

Yes. The premium aluminium structure can be measured and quickly cut to any exact layout dimension required using a standard manual hacksaw or a localized power miter saw.

3) What type of LED light strips fit inside this channel?

The internal width is tailored perfectly for standard flexible LED light tape sizes. For the absolute best borderless light results without noticeable gaps or spaces, pair this track with a high-density COB LED tape ribbon.

4) How do I fasten this channel track securely onto wood or drywall?

You can fasten the track simply by counter-sinking small screws directly through the bottom floor of the profile into the target mounting base, or by using compatible surface-mounting metal clips and heavy-duty double-sided industrial adhesive tape.

5) Does this profile come with a diffuser lens included?

The channel is designed with space for a custom snap-in frosted diffuser lens to smooth out light into a continuous glow. Confirm at the time of ordering whether the diffuser lens ships together with the aluminium channel or needs to be ordered as a separate accessory.
